The leaves are starting to turn here, going from the deep green of summer to the reds, yellows, and oranges of autumn. The weather is cooler, too, topping out in the 60s and low 70s, but I know that hasn’t stopped my kid from having lots of fun in the great backyard of school.
Some of the classes have been taking advantage of the season. Miss Alex’s toddlers had a great in-house field trip last Friday. They started with “picking” pumpkins in the backyard with their parents and then returning to the classroom to do some major pumpkin painting. Now, the enthusiastically painted pumpkins are decorating the halls of the school. Soon, other classes will be venturing a little further for an off-campus field trip. The fall is a great time to visit farms!
There’s other upcoming fun that’s open to the wider community, too. On the 30th of October, MCS will be holding a Trunk or Treat for anyone who wants to toss on a costume, get some treats, and watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! If you want to help make that happen, the volunteer signup sheet is on the bulletin board at school, otherwise, mark your calendar for some Halloween fun.
