We are
a Community

More than simply an educational facility or day care center, the Montessori Co-op School is a community of dedicated teachers, devoted administrators and caring parents actively working together to make a profound difference in children’s lives.

The Co-Op Method

As a co-operative, we rely on parents who have a commitment to our school and to the Montessori philosophy. You’ll have a vital role on our Board of Directors and a wide array of committees. By working together, we keep tuition low and enthusiasm high.

What it Means to be Involved

Our school is managed by an elected Board of Directors consisting of parents and teachers. We ask all of our parents to donate time and talents to the school. In addition to attending monthly parent meetings to discuss school news and business, parents are required to participate in at least one committee.

Committees:

  • Work: Take care of minor repairs and maintenance in the school and work with the Board, regulatory agencies and teachers to ensure safety
  • Fundraising: Organize fundraisers for the school
  • Marketing: Promote the school in the community and maintain our website
  • Recruitment: Manage open houses and recruitment events, as well as give tours and provide information to families of prospective students
  • Events/Social: Plan various school programs for teachers, students and parents; organize social events and foster community spirit at the school
  • Library: Facilitate the checkout of library materials and organize book fairs

Fun is on Our Schedule

Co-op means “community”. From monthly parent meetings to family movie night to the annual faculty/parent holiday party, the co-op model means activities designed to help us grow as a community.
